The Light At The End Of The Tunnel For Sara Evans

IRL, divorce happens. But for country music sweetheart, Sara Evans, divorce happened very publicly. In 2006 after 13 years and 3 kids, Sara filed for divorce from Craig Schelske. Adding fuel to the rumors, she resigned from the ABC hit show “Dancing with the stars” on the same day.

The divorce papers cited irreconcilable differences, inappropriate marital conduct and adultery. Things quickly got ‘divorce ugly.’ The allegations were terrible. The pain and grief had to be hard on her family. But the sky is now clear and the ashes seems to have dissipated.

This morning, Sara posted a picture of herself with second husband, Jay Barker, in honor of the anniversary of their first date.  How sweet is that! The caption read;

9 years ago today we went on our very first date! It’s been an incredible 9 years. Love this man so much!

Sara and Jay were married on June 14, 2008. They currently reside in Alabama and live the life of a blended family. One interesting fact about this story is that according to an interview with the Boot Sara said she’s the one who initiated contact with Jay Barker. (He was going through a divorce too).

One defining moment was, I made the decision to walk into my office and email Jay Barker and say, ‘Hey, so-and-so told me that I should reach out to you. I want you to know that I’m praying for you, and I’m sorry for everything that you’ve been through. He emailed me back within five minutes, and that was definitely a defining moment. I love my husband so much, and I think he’s the best in the world.

I love a happy ending and it looks like Sara has found hers. Congrats to the happy couple!
